The clouds awaited us today as we exited out of our AirBnB for the early train out to Belgium. My train ride wasn’t so pleasant as my seat was kicked, kids screeching and babies crying (If one day I have kids, it can only be just like Owen or Margo 😉). Mommy R made us walk many extra miles before we reached the city centre. Today wasn’t going to be pleasant.
The day turned out amazing. It was a great day of non-planning, spur of the moment, and care free. We skipped breakfast, lunch and dinner BUT everything in between. Beers, fries and Waffles. Because why not.?! Gma, if you are reading this, you should see Mommy R.! Just like her teen days (I’m assuming). Drinking beers and chugging it, not knowing it contained a higher content of alcohol. And boy, her sweet tooth got the best of her. I haven’t seen Mommy R having such a good time and drunk. She took us on the long path home, circling around blocks to find our way back home. Oh, and by the way, she STOLE us some souvenir glasses from Delirium 😱. She was very slick about the transaction, she definitely learned from the best. I can’t believe I almost forgot to mention the thrift market that we were searching for.! According to google it was one of the top 20 to do while in Brussels. I’ve never seen so much junk and garbage. Haha. There was a huge turn out and lots of people actually going through the rummage. That was definitely quite an interesting experience.
Food for thought…. No one said it would be tasty. You have to repeat a few lifes’ experiences before you acquire the taste to live. I once didn’t enjoy Whisky but now I have a favorite brand. First puff you pulled, you nearly choked. Now you have a favorite way to smoke. It’s all in the buds😉. Life forces you to adapt with seasoning. When tough times come, you know what needs to be done to not cave in and feel trapped under pressure. When life offers gifts of calmness and necessities of abundance, you adjust the seasoning. How much paprika you use, is up to your taste. My most favorite and most scariest experiences in life are at the crossroads where I sit and contemplate my next moves like chess (even though I don’t even know how to play chess 🤔). The adrenaline fueled in all possibilities of positive growth versus thoughts of failure gives me high hopes for what life has to offer on the other side of the realm as I gather all the ingredients and prepare to adjust the taste that is coming my way. The most important thing about life’s lesson is; you will eat everything you’re served. Learn to adapt, overcome and persevere. Adjust your taste to always look for positive. And I hope you truly know that you’ve got many recipes to have as a guide….
